very cool tv August 14, 2008 Its the first time i have ordered any thing with Amazon, so i was a little nervous. Did i need to worry?, No, everything went like a dream. tv came with in three days and with no damage which was one of my concerns. The tv it's self is great!, the best tv i have ever owned! The picture is very good and my playstation 3 looks so crisp. The sound on this sony is also very good, You can turn the base up or down to suit your needs and also the treble which was nice. It took me only six minuets to set up the free view, as it did it all for me...great! Over all, i was pleased with Amazon, pleased with the tv and pleased with the price. YA HOO!
Sony Bravia 26" Digital TV August 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After reading various reviews, I ordered this TV on Sunday by free delivery and received it on the following Friday. Setting it up was a doddle (I am a pensioner). It was recommended to me by my son who had just purchased the same TV. I have a Video and DVD Player from Sony already and am impressed with the quality of their products. The TV replaced a 14" analogue set in the bedroom and I had been looking at various TV's, bearing in mind the digital switch over in my area next year. I am really impressed with the digital reception. I had been told I would need a new aerial to receive digital (I have an indoor aerial)but reception is exceptional. The price was very competitive considering the quality of Sony TV's. I am now thinking of replacing my Mitsubishi 22 year old set in the living room with a similar product. I would recommend this TV to anyone who struggles with new technology. My daughter is now thinking of buying the same set. I am now enjoying the Olympics in style!
Unimpressive. August 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a first time buyer of an LCD TV, I would say I was satisfied with every aspect of the Sony, except - the picture. It's sharp, as long as nothing moves; hue and tone are subtly handled, as long as there's nothing subtle, moderately light, dark - or moving; and easy to adjust settings for TV/DVD/Console viewing, as long as you don't mind sitting for ten minutes without making any satisfactory difference. Colour streaking is most noticeable watching films. Watching a Will Smith close-up in any semi-dark 'I am Legend' scene was memorably indistinct. Similarly the posterization or stepping of tones in any remotely dark scene can be very bad. Very. Easily the worst Sony product I ever bought.
If you plan to buy one of these, at the very least make sure you have an HD source of some kind, throw away your Gamecube or any other consoles designed for CRTs and pay less than 413.88. I didn't and now look at me.
SUPER SONY August 11, 2008 I have long been a great fan of Sony products, and the SonyKDL26S3000 Bravia HD Ready TV has confirmed my believe in Sony. I have had this TV only a few days and feel sure that it would be impossible to better this product for sound, style and picture quality. As for the delivery service it is a similar story. This television was ordered Friday 9.30am I paid a little extra for express delivery. All I can say is that its a good job I like to be up and about in a morning, as City Link were at my door at 9.45am Saturday, 24hours from ordering to delivering. EXCELLENT!

I bought the 26" Bravia because it was the maximum size that fitted my cabinet (I prefer not to see the TV when it's switched off). After major surgery to the stand, the TV fits snugly inside and cooling has been augmented by a silent computer fan. The delivery by City Link was excellent - arrived next day at no extra cost. Picture quality is superb but I find the sound quality is dreadful whichever mode is selected (no, the speakers are not masked by the cabinet). Switching subtitles on/off is a major feat that requires up to 15 button actuations. Why? Sound can be switched off by pressing a single button, so why not subtitles also? Ratings: picture 5*; sound 2*; overall 4*.
