Marley & Me June 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Spell binding from start to finish. Having had an affectionate & naughty labrador dog myself nearly everything I read in John Grogan's book brought tears to my eyes. Tears of joy, laugher & sadness. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it from start to finish. Would highly recommend it.
Excellent June 2, 2008 Marley and Me is simply excellent. It's an absolute emotional rollercoaster and it really put me through the mill, but I loved it and can't wait to read it again.
Read It And Weep! May 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What a book! I don't know if I cried more from the laughter at Marleys antics or with the gut-wrenching heartbreak of the author when Marley was hurt (certainly something I'm more than familiar with being a dog-owner myself)
This book had me entranced from start to finish, some of the training parts made me wince and not sure it's the way I would have done it but without doubt he was obviously well loved.
OK, so I'd be the first to admit that I'm biased being a dog lover, but both me and my Border Collie (who curled up next to me on the sofa whilst I read it) both thoroughly enjoyed this book!
Best Book in the World April 7, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think the best book I have ever read. Having owned a Labrador Dog who had exactly the same problems as Marley at the end, I could absolutely understand the feelings that the Grogans were experiencing. This book made the tears roll down my face both with laughter and sadness. Marvellous! I couldn't put it down.
Moving and Funny March 31, 2008 This is a really good book which confirms dogs as man's (and woman's) best friend. While it may be a tad overrated, it is undoubtedly funny and touching in equal measure.
You'll laugh, you'll cry and grow to love Marley the dog!
