Interesting and an easy read July 23, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a very easy book to read and i devoured it in 2 days, could have done it in a few hours if i had the time. Found it very interesting, the way he cant understand what people say if they abbreviate or use comparisions. Laughed out loud in a few parts. Ended quite suddenly but over all a good read
Transportative July 19, 2007 A stunning read, beautifully crafted. Style and content are perfect mirrors. Haddon finds the voice of Asperger's perfectly. The book is literary but very readable; it has depth and integrity. Brilliant!
See the world in a different way July 16, 2007 This book is brilliant. A narative of a young boy with aspergers, who goes through a part of his life and takes you on his journey.
Most of us will have gone to the shops, looked at the skies or tried to find something in a new town. But this book sheds a whole new light on the difficulties and the dangerous world that many of us do not see.
This is a clever book that will give you a whole new prospective on the things that most people take for granted. Added with a great plot and wonderful characters that will have you laughing one minute and then sad the next, it will keep you turning the pages to the dramatic end.
A book of revelations in more than one way. Well worth a read.
a definate MUST READ July 5, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I hadnt heard of this book until I was on holiday and a friend was reading it. He actually could not physically put it down, he was reading it at bus stops and even in pub's. This made me think 'It must be good'. When my friend finished it, he told me "YOU MUST READ THAT" so after the holiday I brought it and to my amazement, i could not put it down either (literally!). Ive read it 5/6 times now an i still get sucked into it. A fantastic read!
