Fresh, heartfelt, human. Set to be THE standard dog book.. November 7, 2000 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Every generation we seem to rethink our approach to sharing life with man's best friend. In the 60s it was the behaviourists, in the 70s and 80s, Barbara Woodhouse. Jan Fennell is clearly going to be the most influential voice of the new decade. Her ideas - inspired by the original horse whisperer Monty Roberts - are simple and accessible but powerful. With their emphasis on non-violence and humanity, they are also very modern. Set to be the standard dog book of our time, I suspect.
A fascinatingly interesting book , well worth reading! November 6, 2000 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a wonderfully well written book. The author explains how she learnt exactly what her dogs were saying to her. She learnt their language and has written this to tell exactly how we too can improve the relationships with our dogs. I could not put this book down and was intrigued at her methods. This book is a must for dog owners
