Hopeless deck lights August 24, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I do agree with all the reviews that that everyone has taken the time to type in regarding these solar deck lights. They are useless and non-functional. The batteries do not charge and the light does not stay on for more than a couple of minutes, and this in only two of the two sets of deck lights that I have purchased. I have changed the batteries cause I thought that the batteries lost their capacity but all for nothing. I also charged the batteries with the hope of giving them a boost but again the solar deck lights did not light up again once the charge was used up. I am requesting a refund of the money that I spent on these two sets of deck lights!
Absolutely Hopeless July 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased a pack of these blue solar deck lights to use on my new decking. I was planning to place one in each corner and I thought they would look quite nice. Sadly these lights really are just hopeless. Out of the four lights, one didn't work at all, one flickered on and off every few seconds, one was rather dull and only one worked fine (and by fine I mean it was alright for a short time). This brings me to my next point, my garden get full sunlight for most of the day, so there is no excuse for the rechargeable batteries in these lights to last for such a short time. The one light that worked for me, would last for a half hour at best after sunset. Which is just rather pointless. These lights were not that cheap to buy (12.95 + 5.12 shipping) seems extreme considering they are such poor quality. These really are a complete waste of money. I've decided to save up for a set of electric lights instead.
Not cheap, and NASTY. July 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought 3 boxes of these, unfortunately BEFORE I read any reviews of them. They suck. I've been charging them for a couple of days and 1/4 of them died within an hour or so of turning them on.
Furthermore, the light distribution between individual units is apalling. I want nice crisp even lights. But the light produced by these vary considerably - some ok, but most pin light - giving my lighting an unbalanced effect. I'm not impressed.
I have 2 sets (8 lights) June 19, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
After having them for about 2 days I decided to replace all the batteries in these to give me a fighting chance of them actually working. I have had them now for about 3 months now and am fed up with trying to get them to work. At best, of the 8 I have, I have one working as I would expect, 3 others that give pin light for a few hours and the rest, no light on most occasions.. it's not due to location as I have even tried them all in full sun for a day.. I don't know if the power drains too quickly or that the panels are poor quality. the build quality inside is pretty poor, but they are robust and look good aesthetically I only wish i could find another supplier of this type of product :C
