Consequently, just when she thinks she has her life sussed out, up rears temptation in the form of old flame, Laughing Dave. By the third instalment the divine Georgia's diary could easily have all become a bit too familiar, but Louise Rennison still comes up with the goods, producing another fresh, side-splitting adventure for her hapless heroine. The dialogue is spot on and her relationships with friends, family, ex-boyfriends and pets are perfectly drawn. Support characters get a lot more page time here than in the first two books, and this adds to the pleasure--baby sister Libby who, at her halloween party, concusses her small guests with a pumpkin lantern is a particular joy, as is Georgia' dappy best friend, who is seemingly oblivious to her mate's teenage angst, yet always comes through in the end.

Georgia's adventure's are consistently touching, warm, funny and real, and make for perfect teen reading. As Georgia would say, you will laugh like a loon on loon tablets!- Age 11 and over. --Jonathan Weir

This is the hilarious diary and thoughts of Georgia Nicolson, a typical teenager who is going through all of the confusion and challenges of boys, school, friends, family and so much more. It shows the funny side of life as a teenager and it is even better as it is so much like real-life.
Georgia is the main character and she tells us what she is feeling from one minute to the next. She writes about her friends, her boyfriend Robbie, who she seems obsessed with which most girls are when they have a new boyfriend.
The themes I think, within this book are first loves, friendship, and relationships with parents and family. In Georgia's eyes her parents seem to be embarrassing and nagging which is what almost every teenager feels at sometime or another.
I think Louise Rennison has perfectly captured what it is like to be a teenager growing up nowadays. The strong points, in my opinion is the humour throughout the whole book which makes it enjoyable to read. Also, the truth within the story from what teenage girls feel and react to things such as what your friends say to you to the way people gossip and poke fun at others in a light-hearted way.
I think another way in which this is a fantastic book is that it is easy to read and so funny that you never want to put it down. I like it because it is as if she is talking to you rather than telling you a story, it doesn't go on describing small things in detail, it is a fast book.
The book's weak point however is that it wont appeal to a wide range of audience as it is aimed at teenage girls rather than younger children, boys or older adults.
