Tania Kovats has brought a lifetime's passion to this book, and it shows in every page. It's a hefty tome; too hefty, probably, for most Ikea coffee tables. Her introduction is both beautifully written and very funny. Her choice of artists and works is peerless. For those interested in a committed, idiosyncratic and witty guide to drawing both modern and pre, you can do no better than Kovats. Buy and break a table.
