hands on experience February 12, 2007 My baby boy loves this and the others in the series. He liked them from just a few weeks old and now he's 9 months he grabs them off the shelf and insists on 'reading' them and touching all the different textures.
Not as good as That's Not My Lion September 28, 2006 I bought That's not my Lion and That's not my Train. On the whole, they're great, but the Lion one seems much more interesting for my daughter (8 months) - I think because it has fluffy and furry bits. There's probably not so much scope for good textures with trains and as a result, this book is not as interesting.
good for the very little May 18, 2006 This is a very sturdy board book with bold clear images of 5 different trains, each with a different texture and featuring a little white mouse.
Unfortunately for all its visual appeal, it has had limited use in my house as it is very basic and once my son was old enough to be interested he much preferred books with a narrative. Would kill 5 minutes with a one year old and would be a good introductory book for a child not happy to sit for a longer period.
Its side is too bumpy... October 8, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Simple but deceptively inter-active. My daughter (now 22 months) first had the book a year ago and still loves it! Combination of great colours, textures and searching for the mouse made this one a big hit!
Tremendous Fun May 10, 2000 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
My daughter is 11 months and hates to sit still long enough to look at anything, but she loves this book. It is sturdy and fairly indestructible so she can read it herself. She adores the mouse character and really enjoys all the different textures used. Unlike most childrens "feely" books this one is really imaginative in its use of materials. I was very impressed.
